Job title: Communications Coordinator

Nature of job: Full-time, 3 month, Term position

Salary: 24.90 per hour

The Communications Coordinator contributes to communications activities and initiatives to achieve organizational goals. This is a full-time, three-month term position beginning in April 2018 with a salary of 24.90 per hour.

 

Reporting to the Manager of Communications, the scope of this position includes the following:

  • plan, create, edit and coordinate a variety of communications materials including surveys, PowerPoint presentations, forms, promotional materials and fact sheets
  • write articles for and coordinate content for our online blog
  • write and coordinate the distribution of our monthly email newsletter
  • update and maintain our website, intranet and social media platforms
  • collaborate with other staff to plan and implement special events
  • provide back-up reception coverage as needed
  • perform other duties as assigned

 

You possess:

  • a diploma or degree in communications (or are currently enrolled in the Creative Communications program)
  • knowledge of best practices in communications for a variety of audiences
  • experience planning, writing, editing, creating and formatting a wide variety of print and digital communication materials
  • knowledge of Canadian Press style and readability/plain language principles
  • excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a number of tasks concurrently
  • attention to detail
  • excellent people skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • advanced Microsoft Office skills and knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat
