Communications Specialist

Ubisoft is looking for an-

  • Enthusiastic and resourceful Communications Specialist to join its Winnipeg team.
  • Reporting to the Managing Director, the Communications Specialist will deliver integrated and effective Communication plans that increase awareness and enhance the employer brand of Ubisoft Winnipeg with external audiences, including prospective job applicants, media, consumers and industry partners and internal employee communications.
  • The successful candidate will help grow awareness about Ubisoft Winnipeg and the studio’s focus as a Tech and Tools leader in the video game industry across a variety of initiatives including, but not limited to, media relations campaigns, online and social media channel strategy, internal communications, content creation, and event execution.

 

Candidates must have-

  • excellent organizational skills, a creative flair, and a passion for the games and entertainment industries.
  • The candidate will benefit from existing knowledge of the Interactive Digital Media sector landscape, positive relationships within the video game industry and with media, and a comprehensive understanding of social media channels.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Work in close collaboration with the communications, HR, recruitment, and creative services teams at the Ubisoft Canadian Studios and Ubisoft headquarters located in Paris;
  • Develop innovative communications strategies that positively impact the growth objectives of the Winnipeg studio while building a strong external corporate brand;
  • Develop social media strategies to ensure content and job postings reach top talent and maintain the presence of the Studio and Managing Director on social media;
  • Create analytics reports to track success, develop recommendations and best practices for future content and campaigns;
  • Identify opportunities to promote the studio and attend speaking engagements, trade shows, career fairs and conferences, including the design and preparation of booths;
  • Handle day-to-day media enquiries and develop strong relationships with key media;
  • Identify opportunities for coverage within target media, develop news and story angles, and leverage these to secure stand-out presence for Ubisoft Winnipeg across multiple channels;
  • Develop and execute internal communications strategies for team members of the Ubisoft Winnipeg studio, manage content on the studio intranet, and coordinate internal employee events;
  • Hire and manage contracts (e.g. graphic designer, video editor) as needed.

 

Training:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing or equivalent experience or training.

 

Relevant Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in communications, preferably with a focus on external communications and events management;
  • Experience in the video games, entertainment, technology and/or creative industries is an asset.

  • Results-driven approach to and understanding of content creation and engagement for web and social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn);
  • Passion for games and technology is preferred;
  • Experience with Photography, Graphic Design, Video Content Creation, WordPress, HTML and/or CSS is an asset;
  • Bilingualism in French is an asset, but is not required.
