They are in the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States and many other countries, including Canada.

They are the communications professionals who certified their skills with an internationally-recognized certification – either Communication Management Professional (CMP) or Strategic Communication Management Professional (SCMP).

IABC Manitoba wants to support you in obtaining your professional certification in 2021.

We are missing out, Manitoba. Many communication professionals who certify their skills reported a salary increase, a promotion or job change within one year of certification. Recruiters are three times more likely to shortlist an applicant if they have a professional certification too.

Certification is your chance for a competitive edge. With zero comm pros in Manitoba certified today, achieving certification instantly sets you apart from the rest of the pack.  You will be the only resume with certification listed or the only team member at work with these initials after your name. As well, the sheer satisfaction that you have joined a worldwide team of certified professional communicators.

IABC Manitoba will offer the certification exam in earIy June and I plan to be there taking it. I want to experience the certification process myself (as much as I hate multiple choice exams) so that I can help others in Manitoba who are curious about certification.

IABC Manitoba wants to help you get certification-ready too. Apply for certification by February 28. Then, we’ll support you in the spring by bringing together Manitoba’s applicants for a practice exam, study group, or whatever the group needs.

The first step is applying (CMP application; SCMP application). Then, it’s one exam. And, you’re certified.

At least that’s what I’ve heard. Let’s do this together.
