The Opportunity

St. Boniface Hospital Foundation is seeking a gifted storyteller who thrives in a collaborative team environment to support our mission in the role of Communications Officer.

Reporting to the Director of Communications & Marketing, the Communications Officer is responsible for crafting emotional, story-driven, materials that emphasize donors’ impact and potential to affect compassionate patient care and ground-breaking medical research. In this role, your natural curiosity will inspire your to perpetually search for potential stories and new avenues to tell them. And you will use your outstanding writing skills to inspire our community to invest in the Foundation’s mission. You’ll also bring a keen understanding of digital communications and analytics, to help evaluate the success of our campaigns and make data-driven decisions about future projects.

This position requires an ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines to deliver exceptionally well-written and designed development and communications materials. Skills & Qualifications

  • Three-to-five years relevant experience in a communications role with a focus on writing, digital communications, and project management. Experience in a non-profit environment preferred.
  • Post-secondary education in a recognized communications program, or equivalent combination of training and experience required. Preference given to graduates of the Red River College Creative Communications program.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders within and outside the organization, including donors, volunteers, Board members, and Hospital and Foundation staff.
  • Demonstrated organization, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated success in a multi-tasking, deadline-oriented environment, with the ability to prioritize projects quickly and accurately.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work with significant independence while keeping others well informed.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, WordPress or a similar CMS system, social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, and Active Campaign or a similar email marketing platform, and Google Analytics required.
  • Experience using design platforms such as Canva, and relationship management software such as Raiser’s Edge would be an asset.
  • A high degree of discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential situations and material.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) would be an asset.

St. Boniface Hospital Foundation offers a competitive salary and benefits package, and outstanding work-life balance. The salary for this position ranges from $55,000 to $70,000.
