What you’ll do:

You will be responsible for delivering employee communications advice and support to internal clients throughout the organization, as well as to local Co-ops. They also support the coordination of communication with key stakeholders and audiences, including local Co-ops leader and team members as well as FCL leaders and the 25,000 team members across the Co-operative Retailing System.

  • Co-develops communication plans with clients including: FCL Business Units, project leads or local Co-ops to deliver effective communications strategies that aid in reaching business objectives.
  • Coordinates, develops and edits content for the following communications vehicles: Hub intranet, FCL.crs, external websites, corporate publications, internal e-blasts, content marketing vehicles (e.g. blogs; commodity-specific landing pages), news releases, media relations materials, enterprise portfolio initiatives, and other corporate projects.
  • Takes a supporting role in planning communications activities that support FCL and CRS-wide brand initiatives. Provides guidance to other functions (e.g. Human Resources, Retail Operations) to ensure consistent voice, tone and message across various modes of communication.
  • Acts as a resource for other Team Members within Marketing and Communications who may have questions on writing, communications planning, media relations, or coordinating content on content management systems.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Strategy & Communications and:

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Commerce (Marketing), or another related field.
  • You have a minimum of 3-6 years of relevant progressively responsible experience in Communications in a large, complex, multi-stakeholder organization (A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
  • Affiliation with a relevant professional body such as IABC or CPRS preferred.
  • You’re familiar with the following areas:
  • Communications planning;
  • Employee communications
  • Project management;
  • Digital content management systems;
  • Crisis communications;
  • Media relations.
  • You’re honest and trustworthy, are results oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
  • You believe in collaboration, building relationships and value the perspectives of others.
