June is here, dear friends and colleagues of IABC.
This month has been a challenging time as so many people are displaced by the wildfires around Manitoba’s north and Whiteshell area. It’s been an exercise in swiftly changing communications and trying to access resources during an emergency. If anything, it shows how much we value community and our ability to pull together to keep people safe and cared for in the face of adversity. As evacuees return to their homes and towns, our hearts are with you.
This is my final message as the president of IABC Manitoba. It has been my pleasure and honour to lead this organization for the past 3 years. I look forward to welcoming a new president and vice president for the coming year. IABC is a volunteer-led organization and it relies on the support of members and future members who endeavor to build legacies in the fast-paced, ever changing profession of communications. Please consider serving on the board where you will be supported and surrounded by some of the best people in the industry. My deep gratitude to every past and current member of the local board and the CWR board for their leadership and support during my tenure.
As always, my inbox and DMs are open to your thoughts and suggestions. Enjoy the beautiful weather as we head into the long, bright days.
With gratitude,
