As one of our newest members, Michelle Finley was inspired to join IABC after attending a virtual IABC mixer last year.
Michelle works as a Communications and Public Affairs Manager with Roquette Canada Ltd. She credits her fellow communicators for where she stands today. “I decided to join IABC because I don’t think I’d be the communicator I am today if I hadn’t worked side by side with so many talented communicators. As the sole Canadian member of Roquette’s global communications team, I see IABC as an opportunity to keep learning from other local communicators,” she says.
Finley envisions her IABC membership giving her that platform to learn, network and build connections. Out of the many benefits, she regards this as a big motivation for herself to join the global family of IABC.
“I really love volunteering and I am a member of the Habitat for Humanity Manitoba, Women Build Committee” says Michelle. The joy and satisfaction she gains from working for a cause so close to her heart keeps her spirits up during these uncertain times. “I’ve been working on a couple of virtual fundraisers that will help build a new home for local individuals in need.”
3 fun facts about Michelle:
- “I love gardening and last year I tried growing a giant pumpkin. It was a fail, but I’m primed for a second try this year.”
- “I used to be a competitive roller derby skater.”
- “In 2016, I ran for MLA in my area.”
Welcome aboard Michelle!
