Six Month Term Position (full time hours)

Reporting directly to the VP, Strategic Initiatives this talented self-starter will become a key player in the organization’s (The Forks) recovery from the business effects of the pandemic.

You are someone who:
• Identifies as an impact player: present, open, flexible, curious, and ready to take action;
• Is NOT fully defined by the boundaries of a job description and loves to self-manage;
• Wants to be useful, make a meaningful impact and make work light for those around them;
• Is an amazing writer with strong attention to detail, adept at easily switching between corporate communications, media relations and marketing;
• Has some design and photography skills;
• Graduated from Cre Comm, a university communications program or something similar, with at least three to five years of experience in communications;
• Is skilled at creating a brand presence on all social media platforms using best practices and taking advantage of knowledge of industry trends;
• Values diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.

We need someone to:
• Research and write media releases, public service announcements and marketing copy;
• Research, write, edit, and simply photograph persuasive content for the organization’s social media accounts;
• Maintain and manage information on all web sites managed by The Forks North Portage Partnership including responding to public inquiries;
• Write, edit, and proof a wide variety of corporate materials including PowerPoint presentations, speaking notes, and infographics;
• Maintain and update media and industry lists;
• Collect and maintain photographic images for the organization.

This position could include some evening and weekend work where required. Contract start date is immediate and may include an option to extend.
