We’re excited to announce our newly elected board members. They were voted in during our AGM which took place on June 23 at the Peg Beer Co.
A special thank you to our outgoing board members who have done an outstanding job shaping this organization during their term.
Here is your 2016-2017 IABC Manitoba board:
President: Sylvie Laurencelle-Vermette
Vice-President: Roland Pajares
Past President: Lindsay Ridgley
Director of Administration: Shruti Gupta
Director of Finance: Mekala Wickamasinghe
Director of Leadership Development: Marjorie Huculak
Director of Marketing & Communications: Heather Howell
Director of Membership & Networking: Kristin Hancock
Director of Community Partnerships: Amanda Pochinco
Director of Professional Development: Andriana Demchuck
Co-Directors of Career Development: Marilyn Camaclang & Jonathan Bauer
As the newly appointed President, I’m thrilled to be officially stepping into the role of IABC Manitoba President. To be sure, I have big shoes to fill. Here are just a few of IABC Manitoba’s highlights, realized under Lindsay Ridgley’s capable leadership:
- we hosted a near sold-out PD event in Brandon with Social Media expert Susie Erjavec Parker
- we held a PD event at the newly-opened CMHR with a presentation from the Vice-President, Public Affairs and Programs, Angela Cassie
- we hit 2000 followers on our Twitter account
- we experienced a 57% increase in survey responses over the previous year
But, by far, my favourite achievement in 2015-2016: with Lindsay’s guidance, Meghan Franklin’s website design know-how and Heather Howell’s skills, we successfully launched our rebrand, giving our website a much needed makeover.
What’s in store for 2016-2017?
The board will be meeting over the summer to do some strategic planning in order to present you a great line-up for the next year. One thing is certain; we’ll be capitalizing on last year’s successes as well as combing through our survey data to find new opportunities.
